Today, as I was driving home and just as I pulled up next to a middle aged lady in a smaller SUV, she flipped out her cigarette butt and there it lay, smoldering in the street between our two vehicles. Now initially I thought to myself “gosh, I’d like to hop out of my truck and flick that butt right back into your lap, maybe a little fussin’ with a lit butt in your lap or on your seat might teach you, you smelly old girl”. To top it off, as I sneered from my windshield in loathing, she had the nerve to spray perfume on her wrists and neck. What a slob I thought to myself.
Then it dawned on me, what gives me the right to feel disgust and sneer at anybody. Hell shit fire and damnation, I smoked for 30 plus years, before I quit not just a decade ago. I have no room to talk after flicking countless packs of lit butts from my window.
Now I just feel bad for the lady and hope she can someday quit and have the same thoughts of someone else flickin’ butts.
